Trauma Focused CBT (TFCBT)
Works with the parent/caregiver, identified child/adolescent to address adverse events or traumas that have impacted that child's behavior and personal functioning. The therapy approach utilizes a model that reduces the impact of these adverse events and restores healthy functioning.
Parent Child Interactional Therapy (PCIT)
Evidenced based model that works with children between the ages of 2-7 years, and their parent/caregiver. The approach teaches specific behavioral skills that restore healthy attachment, connection, and behavioral responses in children. The caregiver is supported through direct coaching and skills development.
Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Recognized nationally and internationally as the primary treatment for trauma and adverse events. EMDR is a structured therapy where you focus briefly on the traumatic memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation - usually through eye movements. The impact of the treatment is the reduction of vividness, and emotions concerning the traumatic memories.
